Eton College: George only at school with boys? Kate isn’t supposed to be a fan of it

It has long been said that Prince George would follow in his father’s footsteps and attend Eton College. But Kate is said to not be a fan of schools with separate genders.

That’s what it’s about

  • Princess Kate is averse to single-sex schools.

  • It is possible that Prince George will probably not attend the elite college Eton in Berkshire.

  • Instead of following the same path as his father William, he could now follow that of his mother.

Eton College in Berkshire enjoys an excellent reputation, especially among elite circles, and is one of the best educational institutions in the world. Among other things, Prince Harry (39) and Prince William (41) once attended the same-sex school. The list of well-known former students also includes ex-Prime Minister Boris Johnson (59) and actor Eddie Redmayne (41).

Actually, Prince George (10), the eldest offspring of Princess Kate and Prince William, should have followed in his father’s footsteps and traditionally attended boarding school. Over the summer, the family took a closer look at the private school, for which you have to shell out around 38,000 francs a year.

Kate, William and George spotted at Marlborough College

But now mom Kate seems to have other plans for her son, as Daily Mail reports. She, William and George have reportedly been seen touring Marlborough College twice. Kate once went to school there.

One reason the family is looking elsewhere could be Kate’s aversion to single-sex schools. It is said that she “absolutely hated” her time at the Downe House girls’ boarding school in Berkshire. According to reports, the princess, who is so popular today, was once severely bullied.

Princess Kate is said to have been teased about her looks

Just because she joined her class two years later than the others, she obviously had a difficult time. The bullying was also said to have been about Kate’s appearance. “Because she was particularly slim and a head taller than her classmates, she stood out for all the wrong reasons and was teased for her lanky nature,” says Katie Nicholl in her book “Kate: The Future Queen.”

The future queen certainly doesn’t want these experiences for her son, although his predecessors probably had a good time at Eton College. For William and Harry, the boarding school, which is not far from Windsor Castle, is said to have been a kind of refuge during the turbulent years of their parents Charles and Diana’s marriage.

George should follow in his mother’s footsteps

A final decision as to which school Prince George will attend in the future is still pending. According to the Daily Mail, Kate is said to be toying with sending her son to Marlborough College in Wiltshire. Kate is said to have ultimately blossomed there, achieving not only academic but also sporting top performances.

George is currently attending Lambrook Preparatory School in Berkshire with his sister Princess Charlotte (8) and brother Louis (5). The choice of this elite school is of course no coincidence: father William, grandfather Charles and, back in the day, great-grandfather Prince Philip were students there.

Lambrook School accommodates children from three to 13 years old. So there isn’t much time left for Prince George before he definitely has to change institutions.
