Kawhi Leonard ranks the Clippers fifth with one game to go

Chicago (USA), Apr 8 (EFE) NBA regular.

The day had a reduced program of games in which the Utah Jazz knocked down the Denver Nuggets and in which the Minnesota Timberwolves crushed the San Antonio Spurs.

Waiting for a decisive Sunday, with the thirty franchises at stake and with the balances still to be decided between the fifth and tenth position in the West, Saturday in the NBA only provided three games.

CLIPPERS 136 – TRAIL BLAZERS 125

Leonard shone with 27 points, eight rebounds and four assists in the Clippers’ victory over a Damian Lillard, Anfernee Simons and Jusuf Nurkic-less Blazers, already out of contention for a postseason berth.

The Angelenos occupy fifth place, ahead of the Golden State Warriors, with one game to go. Arriving fifth, however, would mean being measured in the first round of the ‘playoffs’ with the Phoenix Suns of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Chris Paul.

The sixth classified, on the other hand, will face the third, some Sacramento Kings who had an outstanding season, but who on paper are less dangerous with the Suns.

The Clippers will close their season precisely in the field of the Suns, while the Warriors will play their last game in the field of the Blazers.

SPURS 131 – TIMBERWOLVES 151

The Minnesota Timberwolves sealed their ninth position with a resounding victory against the Spurs at the Moody Center in Austin, where the Texans moved to for their last two games of the season.

Anthony Edwards had 33 points and Karl Anthony Towns had 22 points, eight rebounds and eight assists. Frenchman Rudy Gobert contributed a double double of ten points and thirteen rebounds.

Currently ninth, the Wolves have a first-round play-in game on the horizon with the Oklahoma City Thunder and, if they win it, they would face the loser of the other matchup, right now the Los Angeles Lakers-New Orleans Pelicans. This yes, the Wolves still have options to arrive eighth.

They will close their year with a direct clash against the New Orleans Pelicans, seventh.

JAZZ 118 – NUGGETS 114

In a game between a franchise already out of the postseason, the Jazz, and another already secure in the lead in the West, the Nuggets, the former triumphed with 28 points from Ochai Agbaji and 23 from Luka Samanic.

Mexican Juan Toscano Anderson started for the Jazz and contributed seven points, six rebounds and five assists, with one steal.

Jamal Murray reappeared for the Nuggets, with twenty points and four triples, while Serbian Nikola Jokic contributed six points, ten rebounds and ten assists.
