Kerala Weather rain updates heavy rain expected today yellow alerts

The Met Department has forecast isolated showers and thundershowers till Wednesday

Thiruvananthapuram: The Central Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rains with thunderstorms in the state. Yellow alert declared in six districts. In the next three hours, isolated showers in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam and Thrissur districts and winds of up to 40 kmph are likely.

Districts where Yellow Alert has been declared

  • 10-04-2022: Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam and Idukki.
  • 13-04-2022: Pathanamthitta, Idukki.
  • 14-04-2022: Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta.

Fishing has been banned off the coast of Kerala today. The warning was issued for strong winds of 40-50 kmph and in some places up to 60 kmph.

Take necessary steps to inform those who are currently engaged in fishing off the coast of Kerala and to inform them that it is advisable to stay off the coast of Karnataka – Lakshadweep.

Today, the weather will be similar along the Tamil Nadu coast, Kanyakumari coast, Gulf of Mannar coast and southwestern Bay of Bengal. Fishing is not allowed in these areas on the above days.
