On the morning of January 23 (2nd day of the Lunar New Year), a direct flight with number VJ5317 of Vietjet took off from Chengdu International Airport (China) and landed at Cam Ranh International Airportbringing 214 tourists of this country to visit and relax in Khanh Hoa province.
This is the first flight to bring tourists from China back to Khanh Hoa after 3 years of being frozen due to the COVID-19 epidemic.
Representatives of the People’s Committee of Khanh Hoa province and local authorities went to the plane’s stairs to welcome the tourists on the flight. Each guest when getting off the plane received flowers and lucky money envelopes to celebrate the Lunar New Year from the delegates.
As expected, in the period from January 23 to March 23, 2023, Vietjet will organize about 35 flights to bring Chinese passengers from Anhui, Hunan and Sichuan provinces to Nha Trang – Khanh. With a frequency of 4-5 flights/week, each trip will have from 180 to 220 tourists.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Thanh – Director of Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism said that with the experience gathered in the past time, along with the equipment and infrastructure, it has also been fully prepared, ensuring the quality of tourism. Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa is always ready to welcome a large number of international visitors in 2023, including Chinese tourists.

(Photo: Tien Minh/VNA)To ensure the strengthening of COVID-19 prevention and control during the peak tourism season of the Lunar New Year and the upcoming festival season, Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism has directed travel businesses, zones, destinations, Tourist accommodation establishments and tourism service businesses in the province continue to implement solutions to prevent and control the epidemic according to the 2K formula (masks, disinfection); mobilize and remind employees in the unit to vaccinate against COVID-19 in accordance with the recommendations of the Ministry of Health.
Accommodation facilities will arrange temporary medical isolation rooms for tourists entering if they have COVID-19; immediately coordinate with local health authorities for guidance and support in epidemic prevention and control according to regulations.
In recent years, China is considered the province’s top important visitor market Khanh Hoa. Before the outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic, Chinese tourists ranked first in the structure of international visitors of Khanh Hoa province, according to which in 2019 the whole province welcomed more than 2.5 million visitors. Chinese guestsaccounting for more than 70% of international tourists to Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa.

Regarding tourist accommodation establishments, currently, Khanh Hoa province has 1,169 tourist accommodation establishments with more than 55,530 rooms. In which, the total number of recognized 3-5 star tourist accommodation establishments is 107 with 24,885 rooms, accounting for nearly 50% of the total number of rooms in Khanh Hoa province.
Khanh Hoa tourism industry sets a target in 2023 to strive to welcome about 4 million tourists, of which about 2.5 million domestic visitors and 1.5 million international visitors, tourism revenue is estimated at 21,000 billion VND.
