Kim Kardashian has said she likes to keep her home “zen”, even when it comes to the outfits worn by her staff members. The 42-year-old star opened up about the minimalist decor of her $60 million Calabasas mansion on Angie Martinez’s IRL Podcast on Monday.
She began by explaining her understated decorating style, saying, “When I post pictures of my house, social media followers are either like ‘wow, this is so minimal and crazy’ or they get it. But me, I love it“.
When asked if everyone in her household voluntarily wore muted colors, Kardashian confirmed.
“Absolutely“, did she say. “I have uniforms“.
She then clarified that she doesn’t have exact standards for uniforms, but gives her employees a color palette to wear.
The colors that its employees are authorized to wear are “grays, heather grays, black, navy, white, cream, khaki… I mean, we can stick to neutral colors. There is not much color mixing“.

Kim said she doesn’t force anything on her employees against their will, despite the color requirements.
“My house is so zen so I asked what they thought and everyone said ‘this would make our lives easier’ “, she said.
“And once everyone agreed and thought it would be easier for them, I was like ‘yes, let’s do it’“.
Kim bought the mansion with ex-husband Kanye West for $20million in 2013, although they didn’t bring their family to the property until 2017 after it underwent extensive renovations.
Kim – who filed for divorce from the 45-year-old rapper in February 2021 after almost seven years of marriage – bought half of Kanye’s estate for $20million so she could keep it. He ceded his rights to the property, which makes Kim the sole owner.
The former couple settled their divorce in November after a nearly two-year custody battle for their four children: North, nine, Saint, seven, Chicago, four, and Psalm, three. They agreed to joint custody.
