During a state audit by the National Assembly Environment and Labor Committee, Chairman Kim Moon-soo of the Economic, Social and Labor Committee was sent off after a controversy after remarking, “If you respect Mr. Shin Young-bok, you are a Kim Il-sungist.”
Earlier today, in today’s National Assembly Audit, Chairman Kim posted on his SNS in April last year, “Yoon Kun-young is revealing his pro-North Korean nature, and he is loyal to the leader of the anti-American and anti-Japanese people with his thoughts, words and actions.” That’s it.
As a result, Assemblyman Yoon and the Democratic Party strongly demanded an apology from Chairman Kim, and the audit was interrupted twice.
The situation seemed to calm down when Chairman Kim said, “There was a mistake in my writing, and I sincerely apologize to Rep. Yoon.”
To the question of Democratic Party lawmaker Jeon Yong-gi’s question, ‘Do you think that former President Moon Jae-in is a pro-North Korean sect?’, Chairman Kim replied, “If former President Moon is the most respected thinker Shin Young-bok, then he is definitely a Kim Il-sungist.”
When a former lawmaker asked, “I’ll give you another chance to correct me,” and “Do you still think that Moon Jae-in is also a pro-North Korean pro-North Korean pro-North Korean leader?” Chairman Kim repeatedly said, “People who respect Shin Young-bok are Kim Il-sungists.”
In response, Democratic Party lawmaker Woo Won-sik said, “People with such confirmation bias do not deserve to be in this position.”
Furthermore, the Democratic Labor union members said that Chairman Kim insulted the National Assembly and requested that they file a complaint in accordance with the National Assembly Testimony and Appraisal Act.
In the end, Chairman Jeon Hae-cheol stopped the audit again, saying, “I think that there must be action whether Chairman Kim leaves the office, accuses him, or reschedules the date of the inspection, so please discuss this between the secretaries.”
After resuming the National Inspection, former Chairman Kim declared, “Chairman Kim was at the center of the controversy that the National Inspection did not proceed smoothly.”
As a result, Chairman Kim left the chief of staff, and members of the People’s Power also shouted and protested, then left the chief of staff.
