Kim Yeon-kyung (33, Shanghai, China) returned to Korea after living in China for about two months.

Kim Yeon-kyung arrived at Incheon International Airport on the afternoon of the 10th, and will be resting in Korea for the time being and thinking about where to go.

In the 2021-2022 China Women’s Volleyball Super League, which started on November 27, Shanghai finished third.

Kim Yeon-kyung scored 20 points in the team’s last game of the season, in the second match against Liaoning on the 4th, and led the team to a 3-0 (25-19 25-17 25-14) set score victory.

After saying goodbye to her colleague, Yeon-Kyung Kim returned to Korea to rest.

The Chinese Women’s Volleyball Super League played this season in the form of a ‘bubble’ that was played in Jiangmen City, Guangdong Province, in the aftermath of Corona 19.

Kim Yeon-kyung also lived in a state close to ‘isolation’, only going to and from the stadium and the dormitory.

Although the number of matches allowed to participate in the new rule of sending out only one foreign player has decreased, Kim Yeon-kyung took the 2nd place in scoring (5.56 points) and receiving 1st place (success rate of 75%) per set, making an outstanding performance in karate.

Kim Yeon-kyung’s contract with Shanghai ends soon.

Now, the attention of women’s volleyball around the world is on Kim Yeon-kyung’s whereabouts.

There are two main options in front of Kim Yeon-kyung.

If you want to recover enough, you can take a break this winter and take your time and see which team will play for the 2022-2023 season.

Another option is to enter the US or Europe.

The American professional volleyball team, which started in March and played for two months, is known to want Kim Yeon-kyung for ‘success’.

It is also possible to advance to the European league, which is in the midst of the season.

The Korean professional volleyball V-League cannot play in the 2021-2022 season unless the contract is signed by December 28 last year, the end of the third round of the regular league.

Kim Yeon-kyung will not play in the V-League this season.

Since Kim Yeon-kyung is not a free agent (FA) in the V-League, she has to sign with Heungkuk Life to play in the V-League for the 2022-2023 season.
