“We are planning reserve areas for the future.”

Many working parents take advantage of the lunch menu in the Puch kindergarten. Therefore, the kitchen has long been much too small. “In the past school year, we often had 60 to 65 children to eat every day,” says kindergarten assistant Petra Bucher. But there are only three tables in the kitchen. For Mayor Klose, too, “food spending must improve. I want the children to be properly cared for.” The kindergarten obtains the menus from the neighboring retirement home.

In addition to sufficient space for eating, it was also important to the teachers that the garden remained the same size for the children to play and romp about. After the renovation, a part of the rear area of the building is reserved for the staff for their activities. In the front area, around 700 square meters remain free for the time being. “They are a reserve area in case further expansion is required later.”

Up to 154 children can be cared for in seven groups in the kindergarten. Half-day care with and without lunch or full-day care are possible. “We currently have 25 full-time and part-time employees. This is no longer a small company,” says Klose. We are looking for more elementary teachers.

The feasibility study for the addition and the conversion work came from the Viennese company Stadtbaumeister Ing. Mag. Voglreiter GmbH.
