King’s message of condolences following the assassination of former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe

In this message, the Sovereign says he learned with deep emotion and deep sorrow of the despicable assassination of the late Shinzo Abe, expressing on this occasion to Emperor Naruhito and, through him, to the family and loved ones of the great man State, His warm condolences and His sincere feelings of compassion.

“I was deeply moved by this tragic loss, given the cordial relations that the late Abe had with the Kingdom of Morocco and his infallible commitment to consolidating the ties of friendship and cooperation between the two Nations”, writes HM the King in this message.

In this painful circumstance, the Sovereign requests Emperor Nahurito to convey His sincere condolences to the Japanese people who have lost, in the person of the late Abe, an accomplished political leader who devoted his life to the service of the supreme interests of his compatriots and to the their aspirations, while working tirelessly to promote peace and prosperity in the world.
