Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry are hot! Golden State Warriors beat Boston Celtics in Finals rematch

The Golden State Warriors clearly defeated the Boston Celtics in the Finals rematch 123-107. With Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson at their best, the Warriors had too much firepower for Boston.

Golden State Warriors (13-13) – Boston Celtics (21-5) 123:107 (BOXSCORE)

“The Splash Brothers are splashing tonight” was well captured in the US comment, as Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry were both in very good spirits against the Celtics. Thompson scored 24 of his 34 points in the first half, hitting 14/26 from the field and 4/11 from downtown. Curry even hit 6/11 triples and accompanied his 32 points with 7 assists. In the absence of Andrew Wiggins, Jonathan Kuminga played an important role, assisting coming off the bench with 14 points (6/9 FG).

The Warriors took control after the initial phase and took the lead until the final whistle, but the Champs were only able to break away really far in the last few minutes. Boston hardly earned any easy points against the strong defense of the Warriors around Draymond Green (11) and only played 17 assists. It would have taken a masterful performance from the Celtics’ stars to keep up.

Jaylen Brown was well on his way there with 31 points at 13/23 out of the field, but Jayson Tatum was having a used evening by his standards. Only 6 of his 21 field shots found their target, he finished the game with 18 points and 7 rebounds. Without Robert Williams and Al Horford, the Celtics had few options in the big positions, Blake Griffin (13) started again. Significant support from the bench came only from Malcolm Brogdon (16).
