The impostor syndrome is the unjustified feeling of not being worthy of achievements, work and academic. This term was first mentioned by American psychologists Pauline Clance and Suzanne Imes in 1978.

They studied this phenomenon by identifying that several of their students, especially those who obtained better grades, showed a feeling of insecurity about their performance.

Currently, this syndrome is especially related to women, however, anyone can suffer from it.
