Kochi – The Ernakulam POCSO Court found Safar Shah guilty in the murder case of a Plus Two student, who is a friend of the student. Torture, murder and destruction of evidence proved. The sentence will be announced this afternoon. The incident took place on January 7, 2020. A 17-year-old girl from Alappuzha Thuravur was killed. They took the student in a car and took her to Valpara and killed her saying that she could go to Athirapilli.
He had told the police during the taking of evidence that he stabbed her to death with a knife after she rejected his love. The body of the student who went missing from school in Kochi in the afternoon was found by the police in Valpara garden on 12th night after 10 hours. After killing him in the car, the body was dumped in the garden. The student had 4 deep cuts on her chest. There are more than twenty small and big wounds on the body.
The authorities of the Ernakulam Maradu service station, where Safar works, later lodged a complaint with the Maradu police that the car brought for servicing was stolen. It was said in the complaint that Safar was also missing. After the student did not return, the student’s father also filed a complaint at the central station. However, Zafar’s case was not mentioned in the complaint. The Central Police immediately registered a case and forwarded the information to other stations.
The Malakappara police got information that the stolen car from Marad crossed the Malakappara check post and went to Tamil Nadu. This was learned from Safar’s mobile location. Malakappara police rushed after him. The message was forwarded to Valpara check post and police which is a part of Tamil Nadu. Waterfall police stopped the car before reaching the Valpara check post. On inspection, the girl was not found in the car. Safar was taken into custody after blood stains were found in the car. The police team from Malakappara, along with Safar, found the dead body during a 4-hour search.
