Kongsberg Automotive moves its head office to Norway

Since 2017, Kongsberg Automotive has had its head office in Zurich, Switzerland. The office in Switzerland will function as the company’s financial centre, the company reports in a press release.

– In line with changes in the company’s strategic course, the board, CEO and top management have decided to move the head office home to Norway, explains CEO Linda Nyquist-Evenrud at Kongsberg Automotive.

– Although today we have production facilities and offices around the world, it was at Kongsberg that it all started in the 1950s. Now we are looking forward to moving home again, says Nyquist-Evenrud.

Kongsberg Automotive was founded in 1987, but produced car parts at the car parts division at the former Kongsberg Våpenfabrikk as early as 1957. The company has two factories in Raufoss and Hvittingfoss, as well as two technology centers in Raufoss and Kongsberg.

Industry Minister Cecilie Myrseth (Ap) says she is happy that the company is coming back home from Switzerland.

– We are happy for all exciting companies that choose to place their head office in Norway and therefore wish Kongsberg Automotive a warm welcome back home from Switzerland.

– This is yet another example that it is profitable to run a business in Norway.
