Kuwait allows long-term visas for foreign investors

Kuwait City: Kuwait allows long-term visas for foreign investors. The long-term visa scheme is being launched with the aim of attracting foreign investors to the country.

The Ministry of Home Affairs plans to issue 5-year residency permits to private foreign investors. In the first phase, investors will be granted a conditional five-year residence permit. The maximum period of continuous stay outside the country is six months. Along with this, such investment firms will also be allowed to bring technical workers into the country on commercial visit visas without a university degree.

Long-term residence permit should be applied for through the ministry’s portal. The objective of the scheme is to increase investments in a way that helps in the growth of the country’s gross domestic product. Meanwhile, local media Al Anba reported that they are considering allowing investment firms to bring workers following obtaining security clearance from countries that have imposed visa bans.
