A beach campaign has been launched in Kuwait under the leadership of Environment Public Authority. The authorities have warned that strict action will be taken once morest those who violate the environmental law.
The Environment Public Authority has launched a special campaign to keep the country’s beaches and islands clean with the help of the Environment Police. The aim of the campaign is to bring less waste and recycle. Awareness camps and campaign activities will be organized to understand the importance of keeping beaches, parks etc. clean. Meanwhile, Environment Public Authority Acting Director General Samira Al Kandari said that action once morest littering in public places and harming living creatures will be strengthened and a fine of 5,000 dinars will be imposed for such activities.
Al Kandari appealed to the citizens and expatriates to follow the environmental laws and contribute to protecting the environment. Several law violations were caught during the inspection conducted by a special team at the Hawalli and Mubarak Al Kabir beaches yesterday. Officials also informed that action was taken following the use of prohibited fishing equipment.
