In Kuwait, two and a half lakh Kuwaiti dinars were collected from foreign nationals traveling out of the country within the last 72 hours. Officials said that this amount was collected through the customer service office set up at the airport.
The law came into effect from September 1. With this, expatriates will not be able to leave the country without paying their dues. The new system was implemented as part of preventing financial losses and recovering debts.
Payments have been made through the online portal of the Ministry and through Jala-Vaidyatha offices.
