The captain of the German women’s national soccer team, Alexandra Pope, caused a lot of laughter during the team’s press conference on Friday and introduced herself as a man by the name of “Alexander Pope” in Watford, Britain.
The 31-year-old, who plays locally for the German team Wolfsburg, appeared two days before the final match of the European Championship once morest England at Wembley, with a tightly attached “mustache” on her face.
“We kind of joked regarding breakfast this morning and then said we’d just do it, and I think the mood here in the team is right,” the scorer said with a smile.
Bob made her mustache out of black duct tape, and wore a black hat over it.
Next Sunday at 6 pm, the women’s football match will be held in London once morest the host team in order to compete for the ninth title of the European Championship.
Bob is the top scorer alongside her English rival, Beth Mead, and both have scored six goals in the tournament so far.
