Kuwait: Government sources have confirmed that the Council of Ministers is considering adopting a new and permanent system for flexible working hours by the relevant state authorities in order to radically solve the traffic crisis in Kuwait. This should be applied for in August next year before the start of the new academic year.

“The source explained that the new system will be applicable to all state agencies with flexible system and not according to the periods currently done, indicating that flexible hours will be set between 7 am and 8:30 am. Sunday through Thursday, each party will choose a convenient time to begin its flexible hours.

Therefore, at the same time the employees will not go to work in the state authorities.
He further said: Employees of state agencies will work for 7 hours per day, for example, for an authority that selects entry fingerprint at 7 am, work will end at 2 pm, and for an authority that starts work at 8 am, work will end at 3 pm, thus, the total working hours will reach 35 hours per week.

The source pointed out that the Council of Ministers is keen to implement well-studied mechanisms for the same. On the one hand, he revealed the ongoing coordination between the competent authorities led by the Civil Service Bureau and the Ministries of Home Affairs and Education to avoid traffic jams, not disrupt the work system in the state authorities, and smoothly achieve the interests of the citizens and their transactions.
