The department of Quindío will have a new Veterinary Medicine and Zootechnics Program at La Gran Colombia University, a launch that was attended by the Governor (e), Jhon Mario Liévano Fernández, where socio-humanistic values in environmental responsibility were highlighted, focused on animal welfare and environmental conservation.

The academic training proposal had been planned since 2018, in partnership with the CES University of Medellín, which contributed its experience for the assembly of laboratories and infrastructure. University students who access this new academic offer will begin classes in the month of August.

“We are very happy to know that we are going to have this program in the region, it is a need that has been evident for a long time. With this we are going to meet the demand for services at the agricultural level, for pets and also in wildlife”, said Katherine Guerrero, coordinator of the Veterinary Medicine and Zootechnics program. “From the Government ‘You and I are Quindío’, led by Roberto Jairo Jaramillo Cárdenas, we strive for quality education that aims at development as a region,” said Liévano Fernández.
