Lakers hope to sign Kyrie Irving as early as Sunday – Basketball

Leaders “Lakers” hope the deal to acquire Brooklyn’s star point guard Kyrie Irving will take place on Sunday, according to insider Jan Begley.

The Nets and Lakers are in talks over a possible trade that would see Irving join LeBron James in Los Angeles and Russell Westbrook will go to New York.

Irving and Westbrook’s contracts expire next season at $36.5 million and $47 million a year, respectively.
