Lanaudiers received on their cell phones during the night of December 25 to 26, a SILVER alert that is still unknown since it is a pilot project that uses the Québec alert system.

This alert aimed to find a septuagenarian elder from Crabtree who was disoriented. It was issued by the Sûreté du Québec at 1:46 a.m. via the Québec en Alerte services, to citizens of the MRCs of Joliette, Mauricie and Drummondville.

The missing person was finally found three hours later and the alert was lifted.

What is the SILVER alert?

For the moment, the SILVER alert is a pilot project of the Ministries of Health and Social Services and Public Security and which is in effect in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Lanaudière and Centre-du-Québec.

It aims to quickly find missing people living with a major neurocognitive disorder.
