ADDIS ABABA – The death toll from multiple landslides in southwestern Ethiopia has risen to at least 229, according to government data. However, it’s unclear how many others are buried under the vast expanse of dirt. Volunteers and emergency services hope to find survivors, but since the first landslide on Sunday they have mainly rescued the dead.
