The European catfish (Silurus glanis) is the largest freshwater fish species in Europe. Specimens are usually found to be a meter to a meter and a half long, but as catfish can grow throughout their lives and reach an impressive age of over 80 years, occasionally they will also real giants caught. An angler in Lombardy, northern Italy, has now pulled such a giant fish out of the murky waters of the Po River.
