Latest update from the prosecution on the slaughter of a woman in Etterbeek.

The community of Etterbeek has been devastated by the tragic death of Eleonora, a 53-year-old woman who was brutally killed by her ex-partner. The perpetrator had recently been released from prison and visited her home on Tuesday afternoon. According to RTL, the victim had sublet her apartment to a man named Osama for two years, who stated that their relationship had been strained and violent, prompting police intervention. Osama discovered the victim’s body and stated that she was hiding under a couch with only her feet sticking out. The suspect, Hassan, is currently on the run and is considered dangerous. The Brussels public prosecutor’s office is spearheading the investigation, and no further information will be released at this time.

According to RTL, the victim had sublet his apartment to a man called Osama “for about two years”. He said relations between Hassan and the deceased were very strained and often violent. The police have already intervened several times.

Osama explained how he found the victim: “I asked her if she needed anything. I called her but she didn’t answer. I knocked, she didn’t answer. There was loud music. I opened the door, I entered. She was under the couch and only her feet were sticking out.

Hassan is currently untraceable and believed to be at large.

On Thursday, the Brussels public prosecutor’s office gave more information about the ongoing investigation, as reported by Le Soir: “On April 4, around 3:40 p.m., the police of the Montgomery area were called for an incident in Etterbeek, rue Philippe Baucq. On the spot, the police services discovered the lifeless body of a woman (53 years old). Emergency services were immediately called to the scene. They could only confirm her death. Notified of the facts, the Deputy Crown Prosecutor ordered the first investigation duties, namely the hearing of witnesses, the camera investigation and the intervention of the laboratory of the federal judicial police. An Investigating Judge was requested on the count of murder and descended on the scene in the presence of the prosecution. The investigation is continuing and in its interest, the prosecution will not comment further on this case.
