Several streets in the border bridge district, in Comines-Warneton, are cordoned off this Monday evening. The reason ? The discovery of a lifeless body in the Lys. This one was fished out just a few meters from the scene of the shooting which claimed the life of the young Youness, 21, last weekend.

Impossible, for the time being, to evoke any link between this person found Monday at the end of the afternoon and the events which occurred during the weekend. The cause of death is not yet known.

In the meantime, the rue de l’Europe and rue du Fort, the parc du Près de la Lys and the border bridge in Comines are closed to traffic. The police and emergency services are present in large numbers on the spot. More information to come.
