The Metal Gear Solid series is not only one of Konami’s crown jewels, but it is widely considered one of the greatest franchises of all time.

From the creative mind of legendary developer Hideo Kojima, this iconic series began with Metal gear on the NES in 1987. Over the next few years, the NES would receive two more sequels.

However, it was not until 1998 that Solid metal gear came to the original PlayStation console. To say this title changed gaming would be an understatement with wonderfully designed stealth mechanics, tight combat, enemy AI way ahead of its time, well written story, fantastic voice cast providing a cinematic experience that many Hollywood big hitters. would be jealous.

In the decades since, we’ve been treated to numerous iterations of the Metal Gear Solid series and for the most part, each one more impressive than the last. Well, apart from those from 2018 Metal Gear Survive. Let’s just say that the less said about this game, the better. Unfortunately, Metal Gear Survive was the last entry in the series, but at least we have the remake of Solid metal gear 3 on the verge of hopefully eradicating these painful memories.

More recently the Metal Gear Solid : Master Collection Vol.1 graced consoles and PC, which included not only the first three games in the MGS series, but also the NES classics that came before them as well as a host of other goodies. Certainly, the ports of Metal Gear Solid : Master Collection Vol.1 Should have been taken to a higher level with more modernized features and performance, but there’s no denying that each game still holds up well today.

As the name of the first Master Collection entry makes clear, Konami plans to release other collections in anticipation of the 2008 one. Metal Gear Solid 4: Weapons of the Patriots being included in Vol.2a game that, as of now, has only been released on PlayStation 3.

Konami has not yet confirmed this Metal Gear Solid : Master Collection Vol.2 will include MGS4, but I firmly believe that there is no smoke without fire. However, it seems that the confirmation of Vol.2 was solidified by none other than the voice of Snake (not Kiefer Sutherland), David Hayter. In a trailer titled “Metal Gear Solid Legacy Series”, Snake’s aforementioned voice is brought back and concludes the trailer by saying “This is just the beginning.”

Hopefully in the coming months Konami will reveal all the juicy details, including the release date of Metal Gear Solid : Master Collection Vol.2. The Metal Gear Solid : Master Collection Vol.1 is now available on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
