Chinese scientists have created a unique system that can expand the vocabulary of even those who are fluent in English. Many readers have difficulty understanding unfamiliar words while reading, which is why knowledge in new areas seems difficult and does not reach us.
The system, developed by researchers at Tsinghua University, is an innovative way to solve difficulties in reading English texts. The system monitors the reading process and suggests the meaning of unfamiliar words.
To test the effectiveness of the system, participants took a test to determine the level of vocabulary. As a result, the system identified unfamiliar words for them with an accuracy of 98.09%. The end result, however, depends on the context and quality of the webcam, but the results are pleasing nonetheless.
