She was born in Alexandria on July 22, 1949, and her real name is Suhair Mohamed Hassan. She started her artistic career through dancing when she was not more than twenty years old in weddings and popular weddings.
She started her acting career in the mid-seventies in the movie “A Last Night of Love”. She was married 3 times and did not think of having children because of her working conditions.
She was imprisoned for a week because she was accused of forgery in official papers, and she justified this by saying that the civil registry employee tried to compliment her, so he wrote to her in her social status “Miss” instead of a divorced woman. In Switzerland, in exchange for her to marry him, but she refused, because he asked her to retire from art.

Hayatem’s death cause
The cause of death came as a result of the struggle with colon cancer. Hayatm refused to associate with young men her age, saying: “As long as I live, I do not like to be associated with a married man; I will never be associated with a young man younger than me.”

She retired from dancing and devote herself to acting, but she presented many dance links in her films. Hayatem was diagnosed with colon cancer and underwent more than one surgery to remove the tumor, but the disease returned to her again, and she was transferred to a Cairo hospital, after her health condition witnessed a significant deterioration in her last days.

In contrast to the artist Hayatem, who continued to offer several roles of seduction in films until the end of the seventies of the twentieth century, when the presence of seduction in films decreased, the artist Hind Rostom, who presented several other templates such as the comedic and tragic template and did not rely on the element of temptation only, as stated by Basant Reda, the daughter of the late artist.
