“Lebanese Debate”

Political analyst Ali Hamadeh saw that “there is a double development regarding the presidential file, as it revolves on two lines, first the close agreement between the opposition forces and the main Christian forces on the name of the former minister Jihad Azour as a presidential candidate, and secondly the visit of the Maronite Patriarch Mar Beshara Boutros Al-Rahi to Rome and then To Paris, bringing with it the crisis of the presidential vacuum and presidential entitlement.

In an interview with the “Lebanese Debate”, Hamada said: “Al-Rahi had a number of Christianly acceptable names for the presidency of the republic, and the name of Azour was added to it, but he insisted before leaving that he did not bear any name, meaning that he adopted names, and that Bkerke distanced herself.” About adopting any name because it is the task of the deputies and not the task of Bkerke.

He pointed out that “the sponsor is in Rome today to consult on the issue of the Lebanese crisis and the presidential vacuum, which is a very dangerous situation for the country and the Lebanese state as a state with its institutions.”

And he considered that “the shepherd will go to Paris to hear from French officials the truth of the French position that the French are still clinging to the head of the Marada Movement, Suleiman Franjieh, noting that the French are open to any name that the Lebanese agree on.”

He pointed out that “the shepherd wants to send a message to the French, stating that the presidential election must take place without breaking anyone, especially the Christian component, and this does not mean that the shepherd is against Franjieh, he does not close the door on him, as he is the son of his parish.”

And I believe that “all these developments will not lead us to a president quickly, because the Shiite duo rejects Azour, and Azour is not ready for confrontation and does not even want it, and therefore if the Shiite duo rejects it, he will announce that he is not interested in this issue, but if the Shiite duo accepts negotiation over Franjieh and Arour However, things might be different.”

In response to a question, Hamada replied: “The keys of the House of Representatives are in the hands of Speaker Berri, and he made a decision to close the House of Representatives for reasons related to the politics of the axis to which he belongs, and not for patriotic reasons, and they have no objection to closing the House even if Azour has 100 votes.”

Hamada concluded, by saying: “Things so far are in your place, and things may prolong and there will be no president of the republic before the 15th of next June.”
