Lebanese European Medical Association Provides Life-Saving Medical Aid to Lebanese Hemophilia Society

The Lebanese European Medical Association has provided medical aid, consisting of 74 Hanjour (factor 8, 2500 units/100), to the Lebanese Hemophilia Society, and those who are fourteen years old and over will benefit from this disease.

The President of the Lebanese Society for Hemophilia, Dr. Solange Sakr, received assistance from the President of the Lebanese European Medical Society, Dr. Elie Haddad, a specialist in diabetes and endocrinology, accompanied by a member of the Society, Dr. Gladys Sawaya.

Dr. Solange Saqr praised this valuable assistance, which will save the lives of many people with this disease, especially since most patients no longer have the possibility of securing treatment through the Ministry of Health, as the medicine has become very expensive, although it is still subsidized, i.e. paid at $15,000 instead of 1,507 pounds.

In his turn, the President of the Association stressed that the goal of the Lebanese European Medical Association is to link all Lebanese doctors and nurses in Europe with each other in order to help Lebanon and stand by their families in the ordeal they are going through in the country, indicating that “what was provided today is a small part of the aid that the Association is providing in the field of medicines, especially.” Pointing out that “we previously sent five containers containing various types of medicines, and they were distributed to hospitals, dispensaries, and others, and the sixth container is on its way soon to Lebanon,” hoping for Lebanon, this beloved country, to get out of the crisis that it is going through. Let the beacon of the East return as it always was.

After completing the delivery of the medicines, the President of the Medical Association, Dr. Haddad, and Dr. Gladys Sawaya, as well as the President of the Lebanese Society for Hemophilia, Dr. Saqr, held a meeting via Zoom technology with a number of doctors and pharmaceutical companies in France to discuss the possibility of securing medicines for hemophilia patients.
