LeBron James equals Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s record with 19 All-Star Game selections

Selected for the nineteenth time in his career for the All-Star Game, LeBron James equals Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s NBA record. See you in a year to be alone in the world.

The years go by but one constant remains: LeBron James is one of the crème de la crème of the best players in the League. For the nineteenth time in his career, BronBron will be at the rendezvous of the all-star game. It’s simple, apart from his rookie season (2003-2004), the King has always been there. This year 2023 will be no exception and the Lakers star has even been chosen as West team captain. Enough to join Kareem Abdul-Jabbar at the top of the All-Stars pantheon before (most likely) overtaking him in 2024.

It should be noted that the King will still hold a new record in the next all-star game. Jabbar was selected for nineteen All-Star Games but he could only play eighteen (he had missed the 1973 All-Star Game for personal reasons). If the Ohio native is in D-Day attire, he’ll be the only player in NBA history to play an All-Star Game nineteen times. No small feat and if he keeps his current level, nothing says he won’t be able to get a few more stars before putting the sneakers away. The King and the history of the League, a theme that never leaves us.

While he should soon overtake Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in scoring, LeBron James has already joined the legendary Lakers pivot in the number of caps for the star game. Another accomplishment for the Ohio native.
