For motor racing fans, next weekend (Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 June) will be a special moment since it will be the 100th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. A centenary marked by the presence of… LeBron James, just announced starter for this very special occasion!
We never really imagined the King showing up in the Sarthe department in the middle of the NBA Finals, and we checked today’s date to make sure it’s not an April Fool’s joke. In the end, it is very real.

According to the official Twitter account of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, LeBron James will give the start of this legendary race, this Saturday June 10 at 4 p.m.

James notably succeeds our national Tony Parker, who kicked off the virtual edition in 2020. Pierre Fillon, president of the Automobile Club de l’Ouest, obviously welcomed the presence of the King, face of the NBA for so many years and whose name is known all over the planet (via France Info).
