The Minister of Rural Development and Food, Lefteris Avgenakis, in his message in an online post mentions the Anniversary of March 25th.
“Today, we celebrate a double celebration for Hellenism. The anniversary of the national rebirth and the day of the Annunciation. We reverently bend the knee, to honor all those who sacrificed for the freedom of our race, but also as a sign of respect to the mother of all Christians, the Virgin Mary” he says
As he points out, referring to March 25, “this double celebration also determines the course of our nation. It highlights principles and values that we must propose, in order for our country to find the place it deserves on the world stage.
We are living, perhaps, in the most critical period experienced by Europe, after the second World War with conflicts all around us. In this period, more than ever, we must all stand with a sense of contribution towards the country and the people, and the most important thing we can offer is responsibility and prudence.
In order for Greece to stand up against the global challenges, realism and courage are required, but also to stay away from extremes and small party expediencies.
Our ancestors, by giving their blood, brought the evangelization of the nation. Unity led to victories and division to disasters.
Today’s Greeks, with sacrifices and with the guidance of the Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, we managed to resurrect our economy and regain our international credibility. We must preserve the sacrifices and labors of the Greeks and build on them the new modern Greece, with unity and national solidarity.
We owe it to our children, we owe it to our ancestors.”
