With good weather and the participation of more than 300 athletes, the “46tho bicycle sacrifice lap’.
In the endurance race – a total of 118 kilometers -, the winners were Nikiforos Arvanitou and Katerini Eleftheriadou.
The 300 male and female athletes started from the Port of Patras in the direction of Kaminia Achaia, then continued towards VIPE and exited at the “111 Patras-Tripolios”. Then they turned right towards Chalandritsa and passed through most of the incomparably beautiful villages of the Prefecture of Achaia to end at the Historical Monastery of Agia Lavra. The cyclists like a colorful “river” happily flooded the entire route and received the applause of the spectators who had taken positions along the route since early morning to enjoy this unique sporting event organized by the PDO for many years.
At the end, the awards were given to the winners, with the president of the POP, Spyros Politis, the president of the Hellenic Cycling Federation, Vassilis Diamantopoulos and the mayor of Kalavryton, Thanasis Papadopoulos, present.
The POP in its announcement thanked those who worked in the previous 2 months for the match and handled it in the best possible way.
He also thanked for the support the Region of Western Greece, the Municipalities of Patrae, Kalavryta of Western Achaia, Erymanthos, OLPA, Red Cross, EKAV, EL.AS. and the Traffic, but also sponsors.
