4/ Two children placed in “cages”
In 2015, a mother (1948) and one of her sons (1977) were arrested for acts of abuse committed against two (a girl and a boy) of the six other children in the family. These, who suffered from serious psychiatric problems, were regularly locked up in two 9m² cells built in an annex to the isolated house in the countryside.
Nearly ten years after the facts (Editor’s note: a delay explained by the question of the criminal responsibility of the mother), the criminal court of Dinant looked into this file. The son was present in person to explain himself.

Theft of 350 rabbits by around twenty vegan activists from a breeder: 3 people arrested and charged, a huge trial in sight
It was a double case of thefts of rabbits that caused a stir. The victim is the largest Walloon breeder, Christian Teller, who owns 50,000 rabbits.
On the night of December 7 to 8, 2019, the back door of one of its sheds in Aubel was forced open and at least 350 six-week-old rabbits were stolen in a few minutes and taken away in several vehicles.
In September 2020, again at the same place, theft of 92 rabbits. These had been found in the wild… frozen to death.
For this second case, no suspect could be found. But not for the first, three people were finally able to be identified, searched, arrested and charged. The investigation is now complete and the Charleroi prosecutor’s office is demanding their referral to correctional.
