From 9:23 pm until almost midnight on Sunday, August 6, the hearing to legalize the capture of Andrés Gustavo Ricci, the alleged femicide of Luz Mery Tristán, world skating champion, was held.
Although the judge indicated that the meeting was reserved, it was learned that he could face more than 40 years in prison, and his place of confinement would be defined in the next few hours.

Apparently, during the raid, Ricci would have been accompanied by a relative and a lawyer, with the weapon in hand, and would have admitted having murdered Luz Mery.
Supposedly, he suffered a cardiovascular mishap and must remain hospitalized. There he is guarded by agents of the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI), while his legal team attends to the demands of the court for the alleged crime of aggravated femicide.
At the moment in which he pronounced his personal data, he was heard with affectations in his voice. The defense alleged that the defendant has a throat infection without providing details, in front of the media, of his state of health.

Luz Mery Tristán was a cyclist in her beginnings, but the achievements that made her recognized in the country were obtained in the world of skating. The woman was born in Pereira, but she grew up in Cali, this being the city that welcomed her throughout her life. Luz Mery, 60, gave Colombia the first world skating championship in the 5,000-meter event, on November 17, 1990 in Bello, Antioquia.
Among her most important achievements before her retirement was being the World Skating Champion in Colombia, more specifically in Bello, Antioquia. There, surrounded by the massive accompaniment of coffee fans, she celebrated one of the most important feats of her career.

The murder of Luz Mery Tristán has raised all kinds of reactions, including that of the mayor of Cali, Jorge Iván Ospina Gómez, who stated: “We express our condolences to the family of Luz Mery Tristán, everything indicates a femicide caused by her partner . We urge the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation to carry out a thorough and rapid investigation that results in an exemplary sentence. The death of our champion fills us with pain and sadness, ”he expressed.
For her part, the governor of Valle del Cauca, Clara Luz Roldán, said: “With a broken heart and deep sadness, I receive the news of the murder of Luz Mery Tristán, a true legend of skating and an example of perseverance and sports passion. .
