Today, at the skating rink on Sovetskaya Square in Kolomna, legendary Russian hockey players and players of the local amateur team met for the first time. The match took place as part of the governor’s “Come Out to the Yard” project. Two and a half thousand residents came to cheer for their fellow countrymen and favorite athletes.

“Beautiful goals, strength and speed – every moment of this wonderful event, which took place as part of the regional project “Come Out to the Yard,” will remain in the memory of Kolomna residents,” noted Head of the Kolomna city district Alexander Grechishchev. – Thanks to our governor Andrei Yuryevich Vorobyov, the star team and the Kolomna residents who took to the ice for an unforgettable sports festival! Such events remind us that activity and movement are the key to health and a long life!”

This is the third game in the new season series. Out on the ice Valery Kamensky, Vyacheslav Butsaev, Andrey Kovalenko, Alexander Guskov, Alexey Tereshchenko, Rafael Batyrshin and Sergey Konkov. The team coach was Alexander Yakushev. The game for spectators was commented on by the official “voice” of the project – a sports journalist, deputy of the Moscow Regional Duma Oleg Zholobov.

“This is our first time in Kolomna and we are very grateful for the invitation. We are glad to see so many spectators – the Kolomna residents truly inspired us with their emotions and support,” shared two-time Olympic champion and multiple world and European champion Alexander Yakushev. “The district team is really great.” Despite the fact that her players are amateurs, everyone gave it their all, wanting to win. It’s great!”.

The match took place in two periods of 20 minutes. During the main time the score was 6:7 – the victory remained with the hockey legends. During the break, memorable prizes were drawn among the spectators.

Let us remind you that the “Come Out to the Yard” project started in January 2022 on the initiative of the Governor of the Moscow Region, Andrei Vorobyov. A special feature of the project this season were master classes from the stars of the Continental Hockey League. Before the start of the match, two-time Gagarin Cup winner Sergei Konkov conducted a training session for the students of the Kolomna hockey school.
