The hospital spokesman, Andrei Sroka, indicated that 3 elderly people died as a result of being infected with Legionella bacteria, and the authorities indicated that infection with this bacteria causes serious problems in the respiratory system, while the source of their infection with this bacteria is not known.

For its part, the municipality of the city of Rzeszow announced the formation of a specialized committee to deal with this health emergency, pointing out that it will carry out an additional purification process for the water supply network in the city at the end of the week, while the authorities will announce next Monday the results of the tests that will be conducted on water samples taken from various springs. that supplies the city with water.

It is noteworthy that Legionnaires’ disease is a dangerous lung infection caused by bacteria that infect the respiratory system and is transmitted to it either through drinking contaminated water or through inhalation through air conditioning.
