Lego now lets you create your own minifigures

Lego is testing the Minifigure Factory. This new Minifigure making tool should allow you to create a custom Lego figure online.

Previously, creating your own custom Minifigure was only possible at select Lego flagship stores. “Get ready for a little adventure with your own minifigure creations by visiting the ‘Build a Mini’ tower at your nearest Lego store. Here you’ll find a variety of heads, hairpieces, torsos, legs, and accessories that you can use to create a custom figure!”noted the website. Now, Lego allows some of its fans to do it online.

Minifigure customization works similar to Lego’s “Build a Minifigure” online game. The tool will offer the user to choose different heads, headgear, torsos, legs, and other accessories for their custom Minifigure. By accessories, understand laptop, croissant, pizza, tennis racket or pretzel.

Compared to “Build A Minifigure”, Minifigure Factory will provide more torso customization possibilities. For example, it is even possible to apply decals (“sticker elements”) and custom text. The text editor offers seven different fonts and allows you to adjust their size and position. Please note that Lego does not allow the use of profanity, vulgar references, hate speech or extremism on its minifigures. Likewise, it is not possible to register third-party logos, names of organizations or commercial brands.

Once the customization is complete and the figurine is placed in the virtual shopping cart, the price displayed is $11.99. However, for the moment, it is only possible to buy one per household. The beta version of the Minifigure Factory online version is only available in the United States.
