Lénaïg Corson, former international rugby union player, is launching the RugbyGirl Academy. These courses are reserved for young girls practicing the oval ball.

Lenaïg Corson, a former international rugby player and rugby sevens player, imagined this heritage and transmission project to give back to rugby what it has given her throughout her career. Her objective: to introduce this sport to young girls while awakening them to eco-responsibility, a subject that is particularly close to her heart.

In this new school year marked by the Rugby World Cup in France, Lénaïg Corson will launch the first operations of the RugbyGirl Academy in mid-September for girls aged 13 to 16. A discovery day will be offered on September 20 in Orsay (Essonne) as well as a course during the All Saints holidays, which will be held there from October 20 to November 3 at the same place.

The first operations start mid-September

During this operation, the participants will of course play rugby. Several activities will be set up throughout this gathering. An awakening to healthy and sustainable nutrition to learn about “eating well”, a cooking workshop with a chef, English lessons, an expression and communication workshop, a playful awareness of the environment to boost yourself to act for the planet, wheelchair rugby and yoga will be offered to trainees.

“My parents always told me that we had to give back to sport what it had given me. Now is the time for me to give to this youth, who needs models, inspiration, to better build themselves in lifesummarizes Lénaïg Corson, former French rugby union international in a press release. If these internships can allow all these young girls to gain confidence, to dare, to emancipate themselves, to commit themselves, to feel good in their minds and in their bodies, then I will be the happiest to have shown that sport has real magical powers.” Giving back to sport what it has given it: this is Lénaïg Corson’s leitmotif.
