Lenovo has officially launched the Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2 in Thailand, retailing from 14,990 baht. Building on its predecessor’s success, the release features a 12.1-inch 2.5K LCD display, an upgraded nine-speaker JBL Pro array tuned with Dolby Atmos, and integrated AI productivity tools like Lenovo AI Live Transcript.
Acoustic Architecture and the Nine-Speaker JBL Pro Array
Lenovo sidesteps this limitation on the Tab Plus Gen 2 by packing nine JBL Pro speakers directly into the chassis. These drivers are calibrated to handle everything from dialogue clarity in noisy environments to room-filling low-end response, backed by Dolby Atmos and Dolby Audio profiles covering Dynamic, Movie, and Music modes.
Beyond traditional media consumption, the hardware doubles as an independent Bluetooth speaker. Users can stream audio straight from a smartphone without waking the tablet’s main interface. According to Lenovo Thailand Managing Director Worapoj Thavorvan, the hardware targets consumers constantly shifting between remote work, transit, and downtime. The acoustic design aims to eliminate the need for external Bluetooth peripherals when playing music or podcasts around the home.
Display Performance and Ergonomic Versatility
Visual output matches the audio upgrade. The tablet utilizes a 12.1-inch LCD panel pushing a 2.5K resolution, supplemented by Dolby Vision and HDR10 support. Field usability gets a boost from a High Brightness Mode peaking at 800 nits, ensuring legibility under direct sunlight. Structural flexibility comes via an integrated 360-degree rotating kickstand. Users can flip the stand to support portrait or landscape orientations, hang the device in a kitchen, or lay it flat against a surface.
When left idle, a built-in standby mode transitions the screen into a digital photo frame. For transit, Lenovo offers a dedicated folio case equipped with a shoulder strap. The internal power cell rates at 10,200mAh, engineered to deliver up to 15 hours of continuous YouTube video streaming. Recharging utilizes a 45W fast-charging protocol, while the system remains compatible with optional add-ons including the Lenovo Tab Pen Plus, a wireless keyboard, and a 68W USB-C wall charger.
AI-Driven Productivity and Software Integration
Generative intelligence features form a core component of the Gen 2 software suite. Lenovo AI Live Transcript provides real-time translation capabilities to help users parse foreign-language media feeds instantly. Meanwhile, Lenovo Smarter Reader streamlines text navigation, and AI Notes pairs with the Lenovo Notepad app to organize handwritten or typed data inputs.
Availability is immediate through authorized Lenovo retailers across Thailand. While base pricing starts at 14,990 baht, specialized accessories such as active styluses and high-wattage charging blocks are sold separately.
