Lindsley Ruth, a 1992 and 1994 graduate of Texas A&M University, has been named to the advisory board of the Flippen Leadership Institute.
From Kingsport Roots to Global Executive Suites
Growing up in Kingsport, Tennessee, Ruth learned early lessons in hard work, integrity, faith, family, and service. Those foundational values remained central to his leadership career across multiple organizations, industries, and continents.
A graduate of the Mays Business School at Texas A&M University, Ruth previously served as CEO of RS Group plc, a global industrial and electronics distribution company headquartered in the United Kingdom, and currently serves as President and CEO of Infinite Electronics, Inc. Throughout these roles, Ruth steered organizations through significant periods of transformation and growth.
Leadership as a Form of Stewardship
His philosophy treats leadership as a form of stewardship. He maintains that leaders must leave an organization, a team, and the people around them better than they found them.
That objective requires listening carefully, challenging assumptions, making difficult decisions with courage, and remaining accountable for results. Ruth emphasizes that organizational culture often determines whether a strategy succeeds. Even the finest plan can stumble if an organization lacks mutual trust, personal responsibility, qualified talent, and a unified mission.
Texas A&M Network Encourages Leadership and Innovation
He also advocates for curiosity, encouraging leaders to keep learning, ask questions, embrace innovation, and challenge conventional thinking without compromising their core values.
His connection to Texas A&M remains an essential part of his professional journey. Ruth describes the Aggie Network as a community grounded in humility, service, character, and a genuine willingness to help others succeed. Serving on the Flippen Leadership Institute Advisory Board provides him an opportunity to give back to the university that shaped his career.
Guiding the Next Generation of Executives
Looking toward the next generation of leaders, Ruth hopes students leave the institute with confidence, humility, and the understanding that leadership is a lifelong journey rather than a title.
Amidst a landscape shifting at breakneck speed due to artificial intelligence and technological advancements, he advises upcoming executives to blend enduring principles with flexibility, ambitious vision, and an ongoing dedication to education.
