Linking insurance to the domestic employment contract is beneficial for both parties

Jeddah: Saudi companies and institutions for the recruitment of domestic workers in Saudi Arabia are eagerly awaiting an announcement by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD) regarding linking insurance to domestic employment contracts in the near future.

Information is available that the Ministry is making final touches before making an announcement regarding the implementation of the important decision.
The decision to apply insurance to employment contracts when hiring domestic workers is being implemented by the Ministry in collaboration with the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA). With the announcement of the decision, domestic workers and their employers will be able to achieve several benefits.

The Ministry is completing the insurance procedures for employment contracts of domestic workers by connecting insurance companies with Musanit exclusive platform for recruitment of domestic workers. It contains several provisions aimed at protecting the rights and fulfilling the obligations of domestic workers and their employers.

The insurance in the domestic employment contract will benefit the employer to reimburse the value of the recruitment cost in cases of worker absconding or absenteeism.
