Moroccan preacher Hamza Al-Khalidi considered that following the matches of the Moroccan women’s team and the joy of their victory is “a joy in disobedience and a fighter for God”, because of the players’ clothes.

This came after the “Atlas lionesses” achieved an unprecedented achievement, by qualifying for the final of the African Nations Women’s Cup, and for the 2023 World Cup finals.

Al-Khalidi linked the matches of the women’s team and the earthquakes in the Al Hoceima region, and the fires that broke out in several regions in the north of the country, as well as the wave of high prices in the country.

He described in a video posted on YouTube, “What we are experiencing today is called heedlessness, and scholars say that men’s football matches are permissible with restrictions, but if they do not adhere to it, they move to the forbidden.”

He added: “People report the news of the Moroccan women’s national team matches and are happy with them and consider them an achievement. Some even consider that what women have done is not done by men, and ride on this wave until it is printed with the issue that women are what society does in all fields.”

He continued, “Watching these matches and rejoicing in them, talking about them and publishing them, then talking about the tragedy of the differentiation between women and men in these areas that scholars have permitted to men with restrictions, is a kind of fighting God and fighting Him with sins,” as he said.

And preacher Al-Khalidi concluded by saying: “Whoever watches these matches is a sinner, a sinner, a sinner.”

The Moroccan women’s football team was a source of great joy among Moroccans during the African Nations Cup for Women hosted by the Kingdom.

The “Atlas lionesses” overtook Nigeria on penalties (5-4) in the last match, and qualified for the final of the African Nations Cup and the 2023 Women’s World Cup, which will be hosted by Australia and New Zealand.

The Moroccan team will face its South African counterpart in the final match of the African Nations Cup, next Saturday.

It is expected that this match will witness an unprecedented follow-up, whether inside the stadium or through the media and communication, knowing that the previous match was directly attended by more than 45,000 spectators.
