Little Orpheus: delayed release due to “recent world events” | XboxOne

The news in Ukraine has not escaped anyone in recent days: the war is raging there and several sectors are necessarily affected. Beyond the material aspect, it is the human being who is the first impacted when there is conflict. To avoid further injury, The Chinese Room studio has decided to postpone the release of its game.

Push back so as not to hit

The visuals of Little Orpheus do not deceive: this game lets you embody a cosmonaut of the Soviet era for an adventure that is both offbeat and fantastic. The title then refers to everything related to the space program of the former USSR and highlights themes which, although comical, could be misunderstood by the general public. This is why the studio decided to repel the release of the game on consoles and PC, which should have been available since March 1.

In light of recent world events, the PC and console release of Little Orpheus will be delayed.

Although Little Orpheus was originally released on Apple Arcade in June 2020 and made no reference to recent world events, we recognize that some in-game themes and content may annoy players at this time.

We thank you for your understanding and will share more information on the subject in the near future.

The developers of The Chinese Room prefer to play the card of caution, although their game has no direct relation to the war in Ukraine. They join the listing industry players who have decided to act in the face of the conflict. Already available on iOS, Little Orpheus will hopefully soon join new platforms since it is still planned for PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4|5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S.
