VIDEO EXECUTION: UKRAINE PROMISES TO AVENGE ITS SOLDIER
The Ukrainian army swore on Tuesday to avenge its soldier who, prisoner, seems to have been killed by a burst of bullets following having proclaimed “Glory to Ukraine!” in an execution video that has gone viral. “According to preliminary data, the deceased is the soldier of the 30th mechanized brigade Tymofiï Mykolayovych Shadura”, indicated the Ukrainian army on Telegram, the day following the appearance of the video on social networks.
Brigade spokesman Anatoly Iavorsky told AFP that the soldier, aged 41 and mobilized in December, was from the Zhytomyr region (center-west). The body of the soldier is in occupied territory and his “definitive” identification will only be possible following his recovery and expertise, said the army, while the media mentioned the identity of another man.
“Revenge for our hero will be inevitable,” the army swore, adding that the deceased had been missing since February 3, when he took part in the fighting near Bakhmout, in Donbass (eastern Ukraine).
