Liverpool beat Chelsea on penalties to win League Cup

In the final of the English football Carabao Cup, Liverpool overtook Chelsea to take the top spot in a penalty shoot-out with all 11 players.

The two teams fought fiercely from the beginning, but no goals were scored.

Liverpool scored a header from a free-kick chance in the 22nd minute of the second half, but the video judged the goal to be canceled for offside. 11 minutes later, Chelsea Havertz’s goal was also judged offside.

The two teams faced each other tightly 0-0, and after being unable to break their balance even in overtime, they eventually went into a penalty shootout.

In the penalty shoot-out that started with Liverpool’s lead, both teams had 10 kickers on each side to score and it became 10-10.

Liverpool goalkeeper Kelleher scored the first goal, but Chelsea’s Arisabala’s goalkeeper kicked the ball off the goal line and soared high.

Arazabalaga was put on as a substitute in preparation for a penalty shootout at the end of extra time, but he dropped his head due to the last loss.

With this, Liverpool were thrilled to rise to the top for the first time in 10 years since the 2011-2012 season, and achieved the feat of winning the most championships in their history, nine times.

A right-footed shot from Wolverhampton’s Hwang Hee-chan just before the end of the first half went just past the goal.

Hwang Hee-chan played 81 minutes against West Ham but failed to score an attacking point, and Wolverhampton also lost 1-0 to West Ham and finished 8th.

FIFA has imposed a ban on Russia, which recently invaded Ukraine, for hosting international games and using the country’s name, national flag, and national anthem.

Accordingly, Russia will have to play its home games in a neutral area, not in its own country, without a flag or national anthem, without spectators, and players can only participate in the Russian Football Association, not Russia.
