At the end of January, Liverpool FC published the surprising news: Jürgen Klopp is leaving the Reds after nine years. According to Sky information, his successor is already ready: There should be a basic verbal agreement between Liverpool FC and Ruben Amorim.
“A meeting between Rúben Amorim’s agent and Liverpool FC is planned for this Monday to negotiate the coach’s final contract terms,” writes Portuguese football expert Pedro Sepulveda on X (formerly Twitter).
Ruben Amorim is currently under contract with Sporting Lisbon and is tied there until 2026. However, he had already announced some time ago with the current league leader that he could not guarantee that he would stay next season.
The 39-year-old used to play in the Portuguese first division. In 2018 he took on his first position at first division team Casa Pia, and over the years he worked his way up to become a 19-time champion through the second and first teams at SC Braga. He has been active there since March 2020.
