After the change of sides, the Reds took a cold shower: Harry Kane defended a long ball in front of the Liverpool penalty area and served Ryan Sessegnon, who ran with him, on the left of the penalty area. His well-considered cross pass reached Heung-Min Son, who effortlessly slotted in to put the Spurs ahead from close range (56′).

Liverpool’s title dream is now a long way off and could become almost unattainable should Manchester City defeat Newcastle on Sunday.

The Spurs defended brilliantly throughout the season and threw themselves into almost every attempt made by the Reds. In addition, the Conte-Elf, with a compact order around their own penalty area, only allowed a few dangerous shots and kept Liverpool on goal with only three shots. Tottenham’s wingers repeatedly ran into Liverpool’s wingers around Salah and Diaz early on, preventing the dribbling artists from picking up the pace at all. In the center of defence, the Londoners also proved their superiority in the air with the numerous flanks with their three tall central defenders.
