I have the right to express myself like we all have.“said the woman.

To this, she added: “I am a neighbor like any other, who dedicates a large part of her time to doing social work in the picnic area because I don’t want people to suffer hunger like I had to suffer. That’s why it hurts me and It seems unfair to me that this candidate has denounced me, because we are in a democracy and I have every right to publish my political thoughts on social media. And I want to tell Gianfrancesco that, even if he tries prosecute me It’s not going to scare me. On the contrary, this gives me more strength to continue working for the people of my neighborhood as I always did.”
Furthermore, on his social networks Flores referred to Gianfrancesco as a “opportunist” and said: “These people behave like this, denouncing humble people, chasing. Is this how Escobar intends to govern? With what moral authority does someone say to end the caste in Escobar, when he was with all the political parties? Finally, the social activist assured that Gianfrancesco “represents the most retrograde of politics today” and closed her publication, accompanied by a photo working in the picnic area, with the phrase: “With this character, freedom does not advance, it goes backwards, since They denounce you.” On her own social networks, Javier Milei’s candidate had announced that he planned to initiate legal action “against all the people who are inventing, disseminating or promoting images of me with false statements”.
The memes that caused the criminal complaint
Flores shared a meme on his Facebook account in which he compared the image of a “león (with the weak)” and a “cute cat (with power)”, under the title “The two faces of Milei”. The image of the lion was accompanied by the proposals “cut pensions, eliminate public health and education, seize savers’ deposits”, among others, while the “cuddly kitten”, in reference to Myriam Bregman’s definitions during the presidential debate, postulated “eliminate taxes on the rich, freedom to escape money and more business for the banks.”
In addition, he had shared plaques with phrases attributed to the candidate for mayor, such as “what I want is to make Escobar a commercial and logistics center for the sale and distribution of organs” and “on the grounds of the Higher Education Pole I am going to build a private neighborhood for millionaires and drug traffickers”. The unusual criminal complaint was against Flores, although she was not the author of the memes that went viral among Escobar’s neighbors nor was she the driving force behind attributing the controversial phrases to Gianfrancesco.
